Alan is serial entrepreneur and the Founder of the award-winning hospitality design agency greymatters. As Creative Director has led the agency to become one of the region’s most sought after hospitality design partners. With more than twenty years’ experience, he has designed and branded boutique properties from his home in New York City to the farthest reaches of the globe.
Nigel is a widely experienced and respected hospitality design professional with over thirty years’ experience with many of the largest hotel companies and design consultancies in the region. He joined greymatters in 2019 and is charged with growing the agency to expand its international presence and spread its wings to new territories.
Each of our partners, directors and managers – most of whom are long-time associates of Founder Alan Barr – were hand picked for their proven tenacity and incisive skills across the multiple disciplines that the firm offers. The robust team are masters of design, management and development for complex projects around the world. Supporting our global practice, we operate design studios in Singapore, Bangkok and San Francisco, where our creative expertise is strategically spread across the network, spanning from the farthest corners of Southeast Asia, through Europe, African and the Middle East, and onward to the West Coast of the US.
